It started when I was a student of social work, doing my field work in a kindergarten in a low income neighborhood in Jerusalem : My job was to reach out to families whose children showed signs of distress.
After professional qualification, in my capacity of juvenile investigator in the police, I came to the conclusion that most of the kids that were “known” to the police – came from dysfunctional families. I left the police – and in the city welfare department began work aimed at helping families find the strengths from within themselves to adapt to disability, or beat addiction, but mostly to live as couples: All families go through difficult times, Sometimes they need help to recover, to re-achieve equilibrium, and nothing is greater for me than knowing that I had a little part in that restoration!
